I bought trident chewing gum today in Iran and the label on it was printed "not for sale in the USA" there is a gossip here that is because it includes some harmful ingredients so it is forbidden to be sold there while it is produced in the USA!! A gossip says it is exported to Middle East purposely. It is better to Trident answers this question clearly.

The Trident gum you are talking about is for export. Because they are tax exempted, it is written Not For Sale in USA on it. Trident is freely sold in USA and many other countries. No health concerns. Enjoy chewing Trident Gum!

I called the manufacturer (Mondelez) and they said there is no problem with the ingredients. The sign (Not for Sale in USA) has nothing to do with the health issues. Basically Not For Sale in USA means these products for export only. Trident Gum also is produced for special customers like Costco. The ingredients in all products are same and fit for human consumption.

We used to get it on the shelves at check out in all grocery and convience stores. Have not looked for it in several years as gum of any kind and my dentures do not get along well.
I really hadn't heard anything about it being missing from those shelves and absolutely nothing about it having a problem with our bodies or anything like that. Maybe what you are getting has some other sweetening in it that isn't sold in the USA?

You can buy Trident in the US
Some Trident gum is made in other countries using artificial sweetness not approved for use in the US

"Not For Sale in USA" dose not mean that this product is forbidden in the USA. In fact, these products are for export only. They are sold at a lower price for export( to international companies) so in order to control(pricewise) the domestic market, it is written not for sale in the USA. You can use Trident with "Not For Sale in the USA" with no worries. I just asked from the manufacturer (Mondelez International) and they said so.

I have a box of Trident here on my desk in the US. It is definitely available.
That foreign product must have some ingredient that is not allowed in the US. Many products have different formulas by market country.

Probably not being sold in the U.S. due to food regulations. I think I heard that the artificial sugar in Trident gum is something that is not allowed in the states.

Not true. You can get Trident here basically at any store. Any sugarless gum has Xylitol in it and too much can give someone diarrhea.

I used to buy it all the time but because of dental issues I can not longer chew gum. I am sure it is still here I am going to look when I go shopping today. The artificial sugar is toxic to dogs can kill them.

They still sell it here in the USA. Some countries have packaging requirements. The pack you saw was probably labeled for a country other than the US.
