The ham didn't expire until February 20th, and when I opened it it looked like Turkey (much paler.) It also smelled like rotten milk, but I'm not a huge expert on meat so I just shrugged and made it into food (yes I am dumb.) About half way through the taste got way too powerful, tasting similar to the smell, and I gagged a bit and threw it away. I haven't had any symptoms that I know of, this happened yesterday and I feel mostly OK. Is there anything I should be looking for? How dangerous is this?

Since it smelled like rotten milk, the type of bacteria in it was likely some sort of lactic acid bacteria. These do not cause severe disease so at the worst you will have the runs about 24 hours after you ate it. With luck if you are a healthy person, perhaps not even that. These are the same type of bacteria that make yogurt so they generally don't hurt you much.

If your fine l, thats great. If anything you would probably just get the runs. I ate a whole raw cheeseburger from a resturaunt. I cant tell on meats either. I drank a half cup of spoiled milk withought noticing, beens that were really old, also spoiled ham and well...I am still alive and healthy. I'm just dumb lucky. You will be fine.

You would have felt it by now.

By the way, I'm still working my way through my Christmas ham. Bought a whole one knowing it would last a loooooong time.

Its been over 24 hours, so you will be just fine. It could of given you food poisining, but that happens within 1 - 4 hours after you eat.
