I'm kinda afraid to know.. but I really do need to know for diet purposes... I've looked everywhere but the best I came up with was on a copycat recipe where it said that there were only 266 calories in it (which seems impossible to me)
So if anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated :-)
Thanks!

Ive been to the Rainforest Cafe and eaten this behemoth of a dessert with a friend, and I too have wondered the caloric information of this item. I thought it was required for all corporations to post the nutritional information of their food items on their websites, but after an extensive internet search I have been unable to locate such information. So, I would like to provide some insight to the possible calories based on the ingredients listed in the description: "Giant rich chocolate brownie cake stacked up high, served warm with vanilla ice cream, fresh whipped cream, and topped with caramel and chocolate sauces".

Chocolate brownie (56 grams = large square): 227 calories

Vanilla Ice Cream (66 grams = 1/2 cup): 137 calories

Fresh Whipped Cream (60 grams = 1/2 cup): 207 calories

Caramel Sauce (21 grams = approx 2 tablspoon): 66 calories

Chocolate Sauce (39 grams = less than 3 tablespoons): 109 calories

Total: 746

So conservatively it is in the 750 - 800 calorie range. If you split it with a friend, be sure to cut that number in half. But for dieting purposes, I would recommend this as a rare treat after a calorie-burning day.

Hope that helps in some way!

I m a calorie-counter and find it amazing how many calorie-counting websites picked up this Yahoo answer of 746 calories and reused it as gospel. If you re a believer, better get your running shoes on and do another lap. Although the ingredients listed are correct the portions are incorrect. 746 calories is a good number for a large ice-cream sundae but doesn t even come close to the behemoth that is a Sparkling Volcano. We ll never know exactly what s on the inside of this dessert so we ll use ingredients that are similar, readily available and have know calorie counts.

The Brownies - Our dessert had three warm and delicious brownies. Maybe the Sparkling Volcano is served differently at different locations but the dessert we enjoyed had three. Each one was approximately 2 oz. This makes a huge calorie-counting difference. I m using the nutrition of a prepared Betty Crocker Fudge Brownie. There s a couple of choices but I m confident each prepared brownie has about 210 calories.

The Vanilla Ice Cream - It was good but tasted like a Breyer s to us. At least 1 cup. There s probably a little more but a good guess is 2 scoops which is about a cup for a total of about 260 calories.

The Whipped Cream - A Google Images search reveals some Volcano desserts are topped with a scoop-type topping or spray-type topping. There s not much of a difference here. Ours was scoop-type like Cool Whip. Definitely felt a little heavier but we ll go with Cool Whip because it won t make that much of a difference to the bottom line. Ours was piled high and I see that some are not. Again, not too much of a difference. I guesstimated about 1 cup of topping. About 200 calories.

The Chocolate & Caramel Sauces - Lots of choices here so we ll go with the Hershey s brand which has both products. We re guessing about 1/4 cup of each. About 300 calories total.

The Bottom Line!

Total Fat 34g

Sat Fat 25g

Cholesterol 30mg

Sodium 740mg

Carbohydrates 206g

Fiber 1.5g

Sugars 163g (Wow!!)

Protein 10g

TOTAL CALORIES: 1390

Give or take a hundred calories for amount of topping and ingredients in the brownies. So a good range is 1300-1500 calories.
