I know that nautral sugars like glucose, fructose, sucrose, and dextrose have some nutritional value, but does anyone know if plain, granulated table sugar has any nutritional value or benifits whatsoever?

All sugars provide energy in the form of calories. That's all they provide. There are no other nutrients in any of the sugars you mention. The nutrients associated with them are in the foods that contain them. Table sugar is sucrose, by the way.

Yes it does and is a fairly common ingredient in many food products we consume. According to my diabetic friends, it's balance which tips the scales. Too much sugar for your pancreas to handle can result in diabetes, and not enough can cause your system to "crash." Speaking as a diagnosed hypoglycemic or someone whom produces more insulin than needed, I find myself on the opposite pole from a diabetic and subject to develop full-blown diabetes if I also do not follow a reasonable dietetic regimen. Just as diabetics must monitor their alcohol intake, I have learned I must do the same as booze results in negative rather than positive sugar in the blood stream, contrary to public thought. The human machine does require some intake of sugar, but I am sorry to report we cannot function on chocolate alone, however we also cannot survive without some sugary input. Natural sugars from for instance honey and OJ work wonders, especially for a diabetic/hypogee in crash situation. Your table sugar is derived from natual cane sugar and quite valueable in your daily maintenance. I and my diabetic friends have survived various sugar lack crashes by simply ingesting a spoonful of commercial sugar from a cafe table package.
