i really like chef boyardee tortellini, but it seems that they quit making it. Is there anything that could be a good substitute? i can only find frozen cheese tortellini, but i really like the meat tortellini. Thanks in advance.

The manufacturer of the frozen cheese tortellini also makes a meat version, but stores don't always carry both. Try another store and look for the frozen beef tortellini next to the frozen cheese tortellini.
Chef Boyardee discontinued the tortellini because the pasta wasn't hold up as much as the pasta used to make their ravioli. The tortellini pasta is more delicate and can't always surviving the canning and shelving/stocking process.

My toddler likes the ravioli. We don't give it to him often, but I don't see anything wrong with it. As far as it being a processed food.... well processed food is just part of life for most people. I ate it as a child and my husband ate it as a child and our kids eat it sometimes and we are all fine. Did you know there is a full serving of vegetables in Chef Boyardee now? And you off set it with a fruit and some calcium. I think your son had a well rounded dinner. The only thing I don't like about Chef is the salt content. But like I said, it's fine in moderation. Heck even I crack open a can of Chef every now and then! :)

Find a local deli that makes their own pasta and try the tortellini. It will undoubtedly taste a hundred times better.
Canned, factory or laboratory made food is for animals.

I've never eaten it, my ex used to love it though and the few times I got a whiff of it, it put me permanently off. I'm all for fast dinners, I just don't care for the chef. I freely admit to giving her a frozen stouffers mac n cheese dinner though. I've done that a couple times when dinner just didn't work out.
