I buy everything from Walmart. Except their beef. I live near a Food Lion (gross store, amazing steaks and hamburger!) and must buy meat there because WMs is so...it's just gross. What do they do to it??

Theirs is all prepackaged. Read the label. It is "enhanced" with up to 10% solution. Essentially water. So even though the price per pound is lower you have to figure in that extra weight that you pay for. When you cook it the water cooks out taking flavor.

I like Boca burgers (all varieties) and some of the morning star products although they tend to be a little dry. I've never had Yves. I'm generally not impressed with soy cheese either. Good luck, but remember eating these vegetarian versions of meat is not really necessary unless you still desire meat and need to substitute it with something or if you are still transitioning into a vegetarian diet in which case they are good. I rarely eat them unless i'm with my family and they are grilling out and i'll bring a boca burger to put on the grill. but now my husband has recently quit eating meat so he is eating a lot of them and therefore i am kind of by default.

Did you ever notice how shiny wal mart meat is? Its because they inject it with "enhancers", which are actually sanitizers that contain bleach, peroxide, and other chemicals. This is because of the age of the meat-it basically would rot with out the "enhancer" which is sort of like an embalming fluit (it is, for the animal, I suppose) I don't eat meat at all, but when I did, I had terrible allergic reactions to walmart meats. I spoke to several company reps, and my brother in law, who used to work in a walmart meat department. Its gross the way they process their meat-worse yet is the inhumane, deplorable conditions they raise their animals in-they are so diseased that they have to be pumped full of steroids, growth hormones and antibiotics to survive until slaughter. Unfortunately, thats the case with most commercial meat, but walmart is the absolute worst.

Wal mart's hamburger comes from New Zealand. Look on the package. It doesn't say it is from the USA, just says USDA inspected. We had the same stuff when we lived in the Philippines and I couldn't stand it there either.

Hello:

I don't know why Wal-Mart's beef/meat is so nasty, that is why I shop in the smaller grocery stores. I only bought meat one time from Wal-Mart and my whole family and I got sick from it,so that is why I do my grocery shopping at the smaller grocery store chains.

I like the smaller grocery store chains better because YOU KNOW that they CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS and our locally owned smaller grocery stores are getting in shipments EVERYDAY in produce, meats, bakery so you know their foods are fresh!

It's low grade meat. They buy mass quantities cheap and add dyes to it to give it better color so you'll buy it. I try not to shop at Wal-mart. The quality of their meats suck and their employees have bad attitudes.

FYI Walmart & Sams Club declares they do not put more than 12% water. But check this out when you shop next.

Ham………….contained…… 23% solution

Chicken Breasts.contained……15% solution

Pork Roast……contained…… 12% solution

Ground Round….contained……15% solution

Chuck Roast…..contained……11% solution

Beef Fillet…..contained……20% solution

At Walmart & Sams Club Buying a 5-pound fillet for $4.96 per pound = $24.80 total, in reality. You’ll see that you actually paid $6.20 for a pound for the actual meat. Its a big game that they are playing on us shoppers. Then you have a Health problem to worry about. Just where are they buying their meats from? They are purchasing their products oversea's, Why is China producing all our goods? It is not safe for us to consume.

I refuse to buy Tyson chicken, pork & beef, they get it from Mexico, Brazil, China, India. There is no way have the standards we have in the U.S. They are dirty & diseased Countries.

Purdue uses American farmers from the West to the East 5,500 farms, they produce their own grains & oils raise cage-free. USDA approved. They are among the first poultry companies with an in-house microbiology lab to test products for food safety, they are USDA Process Verified all-veggie, no animal protein diet. No meat and bone meal in their diets.

So you don't have to be that smart to figure out what company to support in their products. BUY U.S.A. Support our Countries Farmers.

Show these other Companies we are not happy using Foreign Countries for our food. DO NOT BUY. Let them know we want to bring Manufacturing & Production back to the U.S. Keep our food safe for our families.

It's not a high-grade of beef. There are different grades of beef and it makes a difference in flavor and tenderness.

It's low grade meat bought as cheaply as they can get it and it is pre-packaged. Most of it's weight is water.
