Can someone give me a (resaonable) estimation of how many calories there would be in the average restaurant cheese ravioli dish? I want to get it for dinner but I have to stay under a certain amount of calories. The restaurant I'm going to is local and doesn't know the calorie amount, so I really hve no idea where it would fall. The kind in question are both filled with cheese and covered in a melted cheese and marinara sauce layer, so that probably adds alot. Cab someone who has experience with this kind of food give me an estimate of how many calories this dish would have? Please throw in fat and carb estimation if possible.
Thanks! :)

Olive Gardens cheese ravioli and marinara is 660 calories per plate. Basic marinara sauce has about 71 calories and 2.6 grams of fat in 1/2 a cup. There are 285-301 calories in 1 cup of Cheese Filled Ravioli.

Calorie breakdown: 34% fat, 46% carbs, 20% protein. However this depends on type of cheese filling. The topping cheese is usually either Parmesan or mozzarella or both. There are 21 calories in 1 tablespoon of Parmesan Cheese (Shredded). Calorie breakdown: 58% fat, 3% carbs, 39% protein. There are 86 calories in 1 slice of Mozzarella Cheese. Calorie breakdown: 60% fat, 5% carbs, 35% protein. If the sauce is cream tomato sauce then the calories are upped. According to staple recipes that includes sauteing boiled pasta and adding Parmesan to saute, the calories range 550 - 680.

The places I have been to have huge plates and load up the plate with what could feed 3 people. My suggestion is to ask for it as an appetizer or half serving (less food) but have it served when everyone else gets their meal.
