Every Christmas I post a food parcel to Texas for my friend. She always asks for Walkers crisps, Galaxy chocolate (they have to re-set it in the fridge), Tea, Heinz beans, and Scrumpy cider.

She also misses Chinese and Indian takeaways and smoked back bacon, but they are harder to send...

She can buy these things occasionally but at three times the cost.

I'm in America, and I always see foods on here from other countries that we don't have here. I have never seen Nutella, Marmite, Red and Brown sauce, curry sauce is sometimes rare outside of big cities. (I've never actually had any.) I'd send some candy bars and stuff. I haven't seen a Mars Bar in America in about ten years, lol, and Cadbury only shows up at Easter.

We definitely have Heinz beans though. Heinz is a pretty Americanized brand. We mostly use it for ketchup here, but it's around. (Think John Kerry's wife, Ms. Heinz Heiress herself, lol.)

Oh, and I have no clue what spotted dick is, but it makes me giggle just a little bit...

I'm American and (unfortunately) never been to GB, but there are a few things I've heard you guys talking about that I know we don't have. HP Sauce and Marmite. I have no idea what either of those things are. Plus, we have different candy. We have "some" Cadbury chocolate, but not much, and what we do have (Except for the Creme Eggs at Easter time) has to be bought in a specialty store such as World Market, etc. (At least, it does where I live--Atlanta, GA.)

We also don't have the same brands of tea that you guys do. Our major ones are Lipton, Luzianne, Tetley and Bigelow. Maybe you do have some of those brands...not sure.

All I know is that here in America, I can't find clotted cream, so have your friend bring some with him/her and drop it off to me!! :)

Oh, and some of the biscuits/cookies that you guys eat can only be found here in specialty stores. McVitties...is that right? Things of that nature.

If you go to the big city, like Atlanta, you can get almost anything. You can get Marmite there, but it's expensive. You can get Russian chocolates and beer, and if you know the proper Asain market to shop, it's fresh.

Probably the hardest thing to find in America is Treacle.

There's also a toffee bar that you can't get here that a friend of mine has brought over. You smash it on a table or hard surface to break it up into little bits. They may not even make it anymore.

Also, Christmas pudding can't be bought unless someone brings it to you.

I have bought several items such as Heinz beans, Treacle, Spotted Dick, and Hob Nobs (my favourites) at World Market. Plus, there is a website called britishbasedfoodsonline.com (or something similar to what I typed) that sells British food in America. I have also ordered from them several times.

Well for starters HP Sauce. I used to go over to Canada to pick it up, and I found it in of all places, Iraq. In the United States you are not as likely to find the great pub foods you can get in England, pretty much nothing in pie form (steak and kidney, steak and ale, etc.), although Michigan has something similar called a pasty.

In the United States, a lot of people will look at you strangly when you put vineger on your fries (chips). Ketchup is king here.

For drinks, you will not be able to find as large a selection of beer in the United States, and the alcohol percentage is lower (that's not a lack of something, it's just different).

So my advice is to avoid fast food, and go to some diners and some bar&grills for some of the best food. Definatly try something different. I'm curious to find out your friends thoughts on what is here and what is not.

Tea would be good, but your friend won't be allows to bring ANY foodstuffs into America.

He'll actually sign an entry application whilst still on the plane, one of the statements you have to agree to is a guarantee you're not bringing in anything edible/drinkable in to the country.

I saw someone be dragged off for a body search at JFK airport, believe me you wouldn't want to risk being in that position for a few lousy tea-bags.

Whats exciting to me is that the bible merely approximately in no way mentions mens better halves. the only place that i'm able to think of of interior the recent testomony is the place Jesus healed Peters spouse. aside from Nephi's writings approximately his kinfolk, the e book of Mormon would not point out better halves the two. The be conscious corn interior the bible ability grain. Corn on the cobb comes from the u.s.'s. Many words have replaced which ability by way of the years. as an occasion, the be conscious "choose" was linked with actual desires alongside with nutrition and safeguard. it incredibly is now accelerated to intend any actual want.
