I am very picky about what goes into my body. I've read that Aspartame can be dangerous over long periods of time. And I also know it's artificial and I don't like artificial foods.

I also know that High Fructose Corn syrup is bad. But what about Sucralose? What's the difference between all of these different sugars and artificial sweeteners?

Which ones are good for you and which ones aren't?

Sucralose is sugar plus chemicals. Aspertame is chemicals. Both are excitotoxins; very bad.

Corn syrup is sugar condensed and engineered; very bad.

White sugar is processed sugar cane and is terrible for your body, but not nearly as bad as the other three.

Sugar cane on the other hand is not bad if eaten straight from the chute.

The healthiest sweeteners are evaporated cane juice and fructose.

I haven't had a drop of soda in years (12 years now). I have a hard time believing that the ONLY choice you have is soda!! Water is usually an alternative, and if not, i go without until I can get water. I'm the type of person who has to drink a bottle of water every half hour, so going without is not a great option for me, but soda has never been my only option! Both high fructose corn syrup and artificial sweetners are evil. Unless your diabetic, your body can process sugar better than the chemicals. High-fructose corn syrup isn't a natural sugar, so i also consider it artificial. However, to answer your question, I would say that aspartame and equivalent sweetners are the lesser of two evils. Just remember, despite soda having no calories, no sugar, and no fat, it is still very fattening for you. It messes up how your body craves junk vs. healthy foods and it obstructs how your body absorbs nutrients and excretes toxins, so def. try to be soda free when possible!

Well, you could try to avoid all processed sugars. That would be best. As an alternative to any of the sweeteners you mentioned, though, try stevia, or sweetleaf. Although it has been controversial in the past, new studies show that it's probably the safest sweetener. And if you can, use fruit juice as a sweetener.

I refuse to eat artificial sweeteners, my nephew (as a toddler) used to sneak the Equal packets and then wound up with a tumor in his throat. He had to have it surgically removed! The way I think about it is: Sugar Cane is from God's green Earth, artificial sweetener is just that, "artificial" -- created in a lab, so, no thanks!
