I know Marmite is English and Vegemite is Australian but they're both made from yeast extract so what's the difference?

I have had both in fact I still have a 125 ml jar of Vegemite in my frig, now they are both banned from Canada, taste wise I found the VM more salty and the MM more yeasty, I use/used them for flavouring dishes and on toast as most do, I had a few small packets of the Vegemite Cheezy Bites awhile back, it is different.

To some there is the world of difference and to others they taste the same. Marmite depends on where it is made as I believe British Marmite does taste differently to our NZ stuff. Vegemite is made in Australia and tastes the same as NZ.
They are made slighly differently and Vegemite is a non meat product which makes it acceptable to V&V's Marmite uses meat products (beef)
