5 gum melted in my mouth!?

Question

I was chewing this piece and the gum just because really creamy, i was only chewing it for about an 1hr
it was really soft, then it got mushy, then became cream in less than 1 minute... what is this?
I had to swallow it, it really didnt say nice at all.

Lol!!! This happend to me too!! and I was in public so I couldn't spit it out it tastes really bad! Anyway the gum could of been expired or close to it or maybe it was chewed for too long! Don't sweat it!

Perhaps your saliva contains a secret enzyme that makes gum turn into a liquid...or the gum was exposed to heat, ill go with the first choice :]

that happened to me once in the 7th grade i was chewing the same gum all day then it just broke down and i had to swalllow it. grosssss dont chew it for as long next time ha

Usually, if gum is really old or exposed to heat it will tend to fall apart as you described.

ughhh... this happened to me in the plane... I panicked... and I had to wait till the plane landed.. hahah... My classmates were asking what happened... i couldn t talk coz of the gum... they thought I was gonna puke because I kept covering my mouth... the gum and saliva mixed.. ughhhh....

since five gum is sugar, unlike regular gum, it is less consistent and that makes it easier to fall apart like that. thus, it's totally normal.
