What's so great about Krispy Kreme?

We've just got Krispy Kreme donuts here in Australia and I haven't had one yet. I'm a big donut fan and there's been so much hype about it that I am expecting something special. Is there something special about them or are they just regular old donuts? And what are the best flavors so I know what to go for when I do get around to trying one?

Get a regular glazed one and the reason there is so much hype about it is that Krispy Kreme has a high fat content so it is rich and cremeier. Also they have a Krispy Kreme shake . Get that too it tastes good.

In the US South, going to the local Krispy Kreme was a real treat. Nothing is like getting one of the glazed donuts hot off the line. The HOT sign is on when the donuts are coming off the line. You can watch the glaze spray on the donuts, and then the worker lifts them with a wooden utensil to keep them from mashing flat. They will melt in your mouth. We usually get a box of mixed as they are all good. Our favorites are the original glazed, glazed raspberry filled, and choclate iced Kreme filled. We ALWAYS eat the glazed ones first while they are still hot.



Today, they are fried in 100% vegetable oil and not lard.



Try the glazed and a couple of the flavors. If you don't, you will never know if you like them or not. A lot of the experience is due to taste preference.

Krispy Kreme are the king of donuts. Melt-in-your-mouth treats that make even the most tongue biting coffee taste good, Krispy Kreme donuts are only good when they're eaten fresh. And usually the only ones made fresh are the traditional glazed. Don't bother buying Krispy Kreme at a store. That's where you get the undercooked doughy nastiness.

If you are a big donut fan, then Krispy Creme is the donut for you. Very sweet taste, dripping with glaze, melts in your mouth. Try one ASAP.

I think it is all hype! When one arrived here everyone lined up to get them. They are just like any other donut except much, much sweeter. Yet the line to get into the store backed up for blocks, days on end. 6 months later, i hardly see a car in the drive through! They used to sell them in the grocery stores here also. They quit that after a few months. In my opinion they are disgusting! And there little "hot light" stays on all the time! They are rarely hot!

Rather than the typical cake-like doughnut, krispy cream is like a yeast-roll with tons of sugar glaze on them .



Personally I don't like them, but if you really like sweets then this would be up your alley.



The tradition is to buy and eat them hot & fresh - as soon as they come off the conveyor belt thing-a-mah-jig (very technical term).



They are not as good as Dunkin' Donuts, but you'll have to decide for yourself (be prepared- have something to wash down all that sugary glaze!!).

omgm ok the reason its so popular is cause they give ya one right off the thing, and 2ndly its cause there really sweet, i ate ine then a cookie and the cookie wasn't the same i also tryed it with choco milk and that wasnt the same, i dont personally like it but most of the people do

mmmm.. if you can get one of the plain glazed while it is still warm/fresh.. Oh it is heaven!!! There is a 24 hr store just around the corner from my house and I fight the pull every day!! Their cream filled ones are great also.

They have tons of sugar lard & calories so taste very good. The glazed is the best.

To me they are not that good. Actually, they are kind of gooey and uncooked. Traditional donuts are much tastier.

They are sweet, fattening and are clogging arteries as you lick your fingers! Not something to have everyday but every obce in awhile there's nothing like it.

they are very good, especially when the light says "hot"....try them when they are warm, they are the best that way.
